St Ives in December events are coming up fast and will bring hundreds of people into the town, which is great for the community and for businesses. Here’s a head’s up on the road closures during early December for those of you needing access for deliveries or with guests arriving. These have all been approved by and will be managed by Cornwall Council. We try to keep the closure times to a minimum but would ask that everyone respects the road closures signs for the safety of all those attending events the events.

Sat 1 Dec – traffic-free shopping and street entertainment – 12-8pm: Fore Street, Back Lane

Sat 1 Dec – St Ives Lantern Parade and Christmas Lights Switch-on – 5-8pm: Gabriel Street, Chapel Street, Tregenna Hill, Tregenna Place, High Street, Back Street, Market Place, Lifeboat Hill, Back Lane, Fore Street

Fri 7 Dec – The Arrival of Father Christmas on the high tide – 5-7.30pm: Lifeboat Hill, Wharf Road, Fore Street.

The other good news is that on Sat 1 Dec, there is free car parking in all the Cornwall council car parks in St Ives (see Parking for details of these) plus Pete Eddy is generously allowing free parking in the Stennack car park all day on Sat 1 Dec, from 5pm on Fri 7 Dec and all day on Sat 8 Dec.
