Come along to the Island Centre, Island Road, St Ives from 11am to 4pm this Sunday, 11 November, for a fabulous lantern-making workshop. Bring your family and friends – and if you can’t make this weekend – there’s another workshop on Sunday 18 November: same time, same place, same magic. Then you can all take part in the St Ives Lantern Parade (sponsored by Cornish Gems and The Coffee Lounge), which is on  Super Saturday 1 December.

This year’s Kidz R Us pantomime is The Snow Queen and this is the magical theme for the parade too. So if you’re a big fan of all things Frozen, come along and let your inner Anna or Elsa – or even Olaf – get creative. The workshops have received generous financial support from FEAST Cornwall and the St Ives Rotary Club to help keep costs down to £2 per lantern. All the materials will be supplied and there will be plenty of elves on hand to help you make your very-own sparkling lantern. There’s no age limit but younger children will need to have a supervising adult with them, who can also join in the fun. No booking required so what are you waiting for?
