Learn how to create traditional lanterns by making a 3D wicker frame then covering in tissue paper.  These are then lit from within with candles or LED lights.  They make great centre table decorations, outside Christmas decorations or even lamp shades!  Suitable for all the family, although younger children will require help.

We’ll show you how to make a standard shaped lantern but you can branch out and make other shapes, let your imagination take the lead.  You don’t need any experience, and will be given help, and all materials are included.  Allow 2 hours, (longer for bigger pieces) or so to create a small lantern.  Recommended to book a slot in advance to guarantee a place – tickets available from Cafe Art.   Drop-in times: 11 – 5pm

Cost: Adults – £10, Children – £3 (including materials). Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Barnoon Workshop is next to Barnoon Car Park at the back of the Tate.
