Above: 2015 winner, I should Coco
The Window Display Competition has become one of the most hotly contested events on the St Ives in December calendar with shops and galleries around the town competing for one (or both) of the coveted annual awards. This year’s suggested theme is The Nutcracker – and the tin soldier really came to town! Last Saturday, Bob Devereux – local poet, artist and raconteur – made his decisions about the winner of the Judge’s Shield for Best Overall Window Display and rosettes for: Best Interpretation of the Theme; Most Humorous Window; Best Small Window.
But, there’s still a chance to vote for the People’s Award. Which business do you think has helped add a touch of Christmas magic to the town? There are lots of ways that you can vote for your favourite display:
- There are voting boxes in both Post Offices – on the Wharf and on Tregenna Hill – where you can cast your vote. The closing date for votes is 12.30pm on Saturday 30th December 2017.
- Via Twitter/Instagram – take a photo of the window you want to vote for and hashtag it with #SIDwindow2017 and the shop name. (It can only be counted if you have a public account). The closing date for votes is midnight on Sunday 31st December 2017.
- By posting a picture on our St Ives in December Facebook page comments section with the shop name. One vote per person. The closing date for votes is midnight on Sunday 31st December 2017.
We will be announcing the winners of both the Judge’s and People’s Awards in January.
