How many cups of coffee!

How many cups of coffee!

Christmas Cornwall December Food Fundraising Lantern Parade News St Ives Super Saturday

The Coffee Lounge on Tregenna Hill in St Ives were among local businesses who sponsored a bespoke lantern in the 2017 Lantern Parade and were really pleased with the result – shown in the photograph above outside the café. But then they went one step further, pledging 10p for every cup of coffee that they sold in December.

So thank you to the coffee drinkers of St Ives who quaffed a staggering 1,750 cups of coffee at the Coffee Lounge during December. Perhaps we should have run a another competition to see who could guess the total! And, of course, a BIG THANK YOU to the Coffee Lounge for donating £175 to the St Ives in December funds for 2018.

St Ives in December is a not-for-profit organisation, which arranges local events and activities for families in the run-up to Christmas every year. Our programme of events is funded entirely by sponsorships and donations. So keep an eye out for our collection boxes around town  and please empty the change from your purses and pockets – it all helps. And if you’re a local business and would like to sponsor an event or a lantern in the 2018 Lantern Parade, do please get in touch.
